The CGFNS DAISY Award for Outstanding International Nurse Recruiter

The DAISY Foundation and CGFNS International, Inc., are proud to jointly sponsor the CGFNS DAISY Award for Outstanding International Nurse Recruiter. This award recognizes extraordinary individuals who are nurses themselves and have made a significant positive impact in the lives of nurse migrants through compassion, empathy, and ethical international recruitment practices, as defined by the CGFNS Alliance Health Care Code for Ethical International Recruitment and Employment Practices.  

This timely award recognizes the great impacts of nurses who facilitate the ethical international recruitment of and support internationally educated nurses throughout their migration and integration into healthcare systems around the world. As global workforce shortages worsen, the contributions of nurse recruiters advance mobility for healthcare workers worldwide while making a difference in the lives of each migrating nurse that they support.

The award is open to individual nurses who are actively engaged, either directly or indirectly, in international nurse recruitment efforts. This includes nurses who work as recruiters, nurses who work as third-party agents to advise migrating nurses, and nurses employed by recruitment firms in other roles in executive leadership, or as clinical nurse advisors or chief nursing officers (CNOs).


Criteria

CGFNS International’s focus on ethical international recruitment and the DAISY Foundation’s emphasis on extraordinary compassionate care are the focal points of this award. Award reviewers will be looking for how your nomination describes any or all of the following:

  • Individual International Nurse Recruiter: The award is open to individual nurses who are actively engaged, either directly or indirectly, in international nurse recruitment efforts. This includes nurses who work as recruiters, nurses employed by a recruitment firm in other roles, or nurses who work as third-party agents to advise migrating nurses.

  • Compassion and Empathy: Nominees should have demonstrated exceptional compassion and empathy towards nurse migrants, going above and beyond to provide a supportive and welcoming environment during the recruitment process, migration, transition, and integration.

  • Ethical Recruitment Practices: Consistently demonstrates professional and ethical standards as defined by the CGFNS Alliance Health Care Code for Ethical International Recruitment and Employment Practices. Innovative, evolving, or creative approaches to ethical recruitment are especially appreciated.

  • Nurse-Centric Focus: The award focuses exclusively on international nurse recruitment. Nominees should have contributed significantly to the international nursing community by helping nurse migrants find opportunities that align with their qualifications, aspirations, and career goals.

  • Impactful Difference: Nominees must have made a tangible difference in the lives of nurse migrants, fostering an environment of safety, support, and empowerment.

Nominations

Nominations are welcome for the CGFNS DAISY Award for Outstanding International Nurse Recruiter from any individual who has been supported by or observed and appreciated the efforts of an outstanding nurse recruiter. The awardee can be nominated by an individual nurse immigrant themselves, their employer (including hospitals or health systems), or a reputable recruitment firm.
