The DAISY Nurse Leader Award - NOBC

The DAISY Award is an international recognition program started in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Pat’s family experienced first-hand the difference his nurses made in his care through clinical excellence and outstanding compassionate care. The family created The DAISY Award to express gratitude and to enable other patients, families, and staff to thanks and honor their special nurses.

Nurses On Board Coalition (NOBC)

Nurses on Boards Coalition (NOBC) represents national and state efforts by nurses and others working to build healthier communities. Our mission is to improve the health of communities through the service of nurses on boards and other bodies.

CRITERIA

  • Serves as a role model of nursing leadership excellence
  • Advocates for NOBC's mission to improve health in communities
  • Actively engages in serving on a board and/or has a history of serving on boards
  • Mentors and sponsors others for board service
  • Creates an environment where attributes of trust, mutual respect, continued professional development and ethical behavior are modeled and supported
  • Demonstrates compassionate leadership, the hallmark of all DAISY awards
